Tech entrepreneur Deana Pizzo has won a long list of accolades and awards based on the business success of her company I.T. Solutions of South Florida. But the honors in which she is “super proud” come from creating a winning work culture in which staff and partners feel heard and appreciated.
Her 25-employee firm recently was named one of the “Best Places To Work” yet again by the South Florida Business Journal for its supportive collaborative culture that includes staff luncheons in which officers cook, frequent happy hours, spotlights on employee successes and much more.
A key element to employee satisfaction she says is ensuring people are in roles that “best fit not only their talents, but their personalities, their plans and goals, which all translates ten-fold into excellent performance client service.”
I.T. Solutions’ near perfect customer satisfaction ratings are at the top of the industry, leading to sustained financial growth and success. Among many honors, I.T. Solutions also has made the Inc. 5000 Inc. “Fastest Growing Companies” list, appeared numerous times on the SFBJ “Fastest-Growing Technology Companies” ranking and the prestigious MSP 501 “Top Performing Managed Service Provider” ratings, as well as other national and regional awards.
The company has achieved continuous growth year after year since founded by Pizzo in 2004. ITS provides expert and reliable IT support, advanced cybersecurity protection, and other proactive technology solutions to small and midsize businesses locally and nationwide.
The firm serves a vast array of businesses including manufacturing, construction, schools, non-profit organizations, and can easily accommodate the needs of any professional service industry, including those with multiple locations and remote workers.
In addition to directing her own company, Pizzo is a leader and advocate boosting the overall tech sector across the region. As Board Chair of the South Florida Tech Hub, she has played a key role in the revamp of the organization dedicated to “empowering the tech ecosystem in South Florida.” She called this a “huge undertaking,” but essential for South Florida to fully reach its immense and long-discussed potential as a global tech center.
Pizzo also recently took on another leadership role with a top regional association — Entrepreneurs’ Organization South Florida (EO SOFLO) – as Forum Placement Chair. In this role she helps members find their best fit with EO Forum partners.
EO SOFLO is one of the world’s largest EO chapters, and works to foster entrepreneurship and overall economic growth in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. More than 300 EO SOFLO member companies account for more than $3 billion in yearly revenues and 11,000 jobs in the tri-county area.
Pizzo has been an EO SOFLO member for about five years and previously participated in the group’s Accelerator program. She says EO is “an amazing sounding board of entrepreneur peers” that has been invaluable in her successfully building her business.
“EO has helped me develop the philosophy to lead with curiosity. Ask questions, don’t feel like you have to have all the answers for everything,” she says. “Slow down and listen, and you’ll learn and be able to successfully act on so much more.”
Pizzo’s keen “people skills” were key in her being named to the EO SOFLO committee leadership position.
“Our members place a great amount of trust in their Forum partners to help them thrive through business and personal challenges, so it’s critical that they are matched well,” said Leonard Goldberg, current EO SOFLO president and founder of Fort Lauderdale-based Gold Aviation Services. “Deana is a master at fostering positive culture and community in her own company, her industry, and in our chapter. We’re all fortunate to have her making South Florida a better place to build a business, work and live.”
