Windows 7 End of Life

Windows 7 Support Officially Ends Today

Windows 7 End of Life has arrived.

Microsoft is ending support for this aging operating system on January 14, 2020. This means a decade after introducing Windows 7, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or patches unless you purchase Extended Security Updates from Microsoft. Tech support from Microsoft for any Windows 7 issues also ends today.

We strongly recommend upgrading to Windows 10. Computers with unsupported operating systems can have serious implications for both the performance and safety of a network. Outdated operating systems are more susceptible to malware and viruses, which puts your invaluable files at risk.

Tomorrow Microsoft will begin alerting Windows 7 users that the system is no longer supported, and users should upgrade to Windows 10. The full-screen alert from Microsoft is below. Microsoft also recommends updating your computer if the machine is more than three years old.

Please contact us if you have any questions about your network and your risk utilizing a Windows 7 operating system.
